Akhirnya Angkasa Pura II mengikuti program berkelas dunia. Adalah Airport Service Quality (ASQ) program yang diinisiasi oleh Airport Council International (ACI). Keinginan ini sebenarnya sudah lama semenjak AP II mulai aktif mengikuti program-program ACI khususnya Regional dan World Assembly. Di kedua acara tersebut khususnya pada World Assembly dimana pengelola bandara seluruh dunia bertemu dan berbagi informasi tentang pengelolaan bandara, serta diumumkan pemenang ASQ Award untuk beberapa kategori. ASQ program adalah kegiatan yang ditujukan untuk mengukur tingkat pelayanan yang diberikan oleh pengelola bandara anggota ACI kepada pengguna jasanya, serta benchmarking bagi pengelola bandara untuk mencari tahu solusi yang tepat bagi penyelesaian permasalahan pelayanan di bandara. Untuk partisipasi yang pertama ini Direksi AP II menunjuk Bandara Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Palembang sebagai peserta dalam ASQ competition. Oleh karena itu SMB II wajib menyelenggarakan survey setiap triwulan dengan sample kuesioner dibutuhkan minimal 350 lembar. Semua kuesioner dibuat dan dikirim langsung oleh DKMA, konsultan survey tingkat dunia yang ditunjuk ACI, termasuk kuesioner dalam bahasa Indonesia. Mengantisipasi tindakan pemalsuan atau manipulasi hasil survey, setiap kuesioner diberi nomor seri dan tidak boleh digandakan. DKMA yang akan mengolah dan melaporkan hasil survey kepada peserta. Artinya semua naskah kuesioner harus dikirim balik ke DKMA yang bermarkas di London sebelum batas waktu yang ditetapkan.
Kantor Pusat mengirim 2 personil ke Bandara SMB II yaitu Fery Utameyasa, Public Relation Manager AP II dan Ferdian Agustiana, pelaksana di unit kerja Strategic Planning & Development, untuk memberikan penjelasan maksud dan tujuan ASQ serta teknis pelaksanaan survey. Dengan dibantu 8 tenaga surveyor, kegiatan survey di Bandara SMB II selama 3 hari diharapkan dapat memberikan hasil yang maksimal, minimal masuk 5 besar bandara terbaik di dunia untuk kategori 2 s.d 5 juta penumpang per tahun.
ASQ survey akan menjadi acuan bagi AP II dalam mengadakan survey-survey sejenis. Perlu digarisbawahi bahwa ASQ survey bukan sekadar survey tanpa ada pertanggungjawaban. Untuk menjamin kualitas dan reliabilitas survey, pihak DKMA akan melakukan audit ke lokasi. Audit ditujukan untuk menyakinkan apakah hasil survey sesuai kondisi yang sebenarnya. Sanksi akan diberikan bila ternyata hasil audit menyatakan bahwa telah terjadi manipulasi survey. Kredibilitas perusahaan dan negara Indonesia dipertaruhkan. So, kalau manipulasi, siap-siap perusahaan kita dan negara RI dinilai 'tidak dapat dipercaya'. Naudzubila mindzalik.......!!!!

Badaruddin II Palembang as a participant in the ASQ competition. Therefore, SMB II shall conduct a quarterly survey by questionnaire sample required at least 350 sheets. All
questionnaires are made and shipped directly by DKMA, survey consultant
appointed ACI world level, including the questionnaire in the
Indonesian language. Anticipate falsification or manipulation of the survey, each questionnaire was given a serial number and may not be copied. DKMA who will process and report survey results to participants. This means that all manuscripts should be sent back to the completed questionnaire, based in London DKMA before the deadline.
