Terminal Baru Bandara Sultan Syarif Kasim II (SSK II) Pekanbaru

Pada hari Senin tanggal 16 Juli 2012, PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) resmi mengoperasikan terminal baru Bandara Sultan Syarif Kasim II Pekanbaru. Dengan luas sekitar 25.000 m2, terminal ini mampu menampung 4 (empat) juta penumpang per tahun, naik dibandingkan terminal lama yang hanya mampu menampung 1,5 juta penumpang. Diharapkan dengan beroperasinya terminal baru ini, target grand launching yang akan dilakukan oleh Presiden RI September nanti dapat berjalan sesuai rencana.

Soft launching berjalan mulus pada hari itu dan terminal baru sudah resmi difungsikan untuk penumpang domestik dan Internasional. Beroperasinya terminal baru tersebut menimbulkan konsekuensi berubahnya akses jalan keluar masuk penumpang maupun pengunjung bandara melalui jalan simpang tiga yang baru, dan tidak lagi melewati jalan di depan Kompleks TNI AU.

Gubernur Riau HM Rusli Zainal beserta rombongan pejabat pemda dan anggota DPRD Prov Riau, berkesempatan meninjau beroperasinya terminal baru tersebut. Beliau mengungkapkan bahwa bandara SSK II ini merupakan kebanggaan Riau yang baru.

On Monday, July 16th, 2012, PT Angkasa Pura II is officially launched to operate the new airport terminal of Sultan Sharif Kasim II, Pekanbaru. With an area of ​​about 25,000 m2, the terminal is able to accommodate four million passengers per year, while the existing is only able to accommodate 1.5 million passengers. With the operational of the new terminal, it is expected the target of grand launching by the President in September 2012 can go smoothly according to the plan.

Soft launching went smoothly and the new terminal was officially functioned for domestic and international passengers. The operational of the new terminal have changed both of the in and out road access of the airport passengers and visitors through the new road junction.  It’s no longer through the streets in front of the complex of the Air Force.

Riau Governor HM Rusli Zainal and his entourage, local government officials and legislators of Riau Province are reviewing the operation of the new terminal. He said that the SSK II airport is the new pride of Riau.
